0.00Introduction
This tool helps students convert between GPA and percentage, and calculate cumulative GPA (CGPA) using a standard 4.0 scale. Teachers can also auto-grade from raw marks. Perfect for quick academic checks and planning.
How it works
- GPA → %: enter GPA, see percentage instantly.
- % → GPA: enter percentage, see GPA instantly.
- Teacher Helper: set full/pass marks & credits once, then enter theory + practical per subject — grade and grade point appear automatically.
- CGPA: edit subject names, grade points, and credit hours, then click Calculate.
Basic Rules & Instructions
- GPA must be between 0 and 4.0 (values above 4 are capped).
- Percentage must be between 0 and 100.
- Full Marks must be greater than 0; Pass Marks cannot exceed Full Marks.
- Theory + Practical is capped at Full Marks — typos can't inflate results.
- Credit hours must be at least 1.
- If a subject's total is below Pass Marks, it is graded F regardless of percentage.
- F subjects do not contribute to the final GPA.
- Click Calculate to refresh the final result after big changes.
Calculation Methods
Percentage: GPA × 25
GPA: Percentage ÷ 25 (capped at 4.0)
CGPA: Σ(Grade Point × Credit) ÷ Σ(Credit)
Grade scale: A+ ≥90 · A ≥80 · B+ ≥70 · B ≥60 · C+ ≥50 · C ≥40 · D ≥35 · F <35
Grade points: A+=4.0 · A=3.6 · B+=3.2 · B=2.8 · C+=2.4 · C=2.0 · D=1.6 · F=0.0
Disclaimer
This calculator uses a common 4.0 scale and a configurable grade-band table. Different institutions may use variations (e.g. 10-point scale, weighted GPA, different pass marks). Always verify results against your official academic policy before publishing them. Grade thresholds can be edited in the GRADE_SCALE constant in the script.
